We had the opportunity to speak with the Hygiene Manager from a BRC A++ rated facility about the benefits they’ve experienced since switching to our UST range.

What is the nature of the production on site?
We produce sausages, cooked meats, and pâté across two sites. The sausage production area is low risk, while the deli side includes both low and high-risk zones. Both facilities use mainly wet cleaning methods.

Customers supplied?
We supply leading UK retailers with our products.

What products were you using before Vikan?
Previously, we used resin-set brushes from another supplier.

What was the motivation for change? What challenges did you face?
The main issue was that the previous brushes were hard to clean after use.

How did you get in contact with Vikan?
We met with the Vikan Area Sales Manager through our distributor. I was already familiar with Vikan from past roles.

What happened next?
We were introduced to the UST tools at our first meeting. I was immediately impressed by the design and ease of cleaning.

Yes, and the documentation provided was very helpful when showing auditors our hygiene efforts.

What have been the benefits of switching to UST tools?
The UST brushes provide excellent cleaning performance and last longer, offering better value for money. This has led to significant cost savings.

What do you use the UST products for on-site?
We use Churn Brushes for food contact surfaces and Deck Scrubbers for floors in both low and high-risk areas.

Would you recommend UST and Vikan to other sites?
Absolutely, I would.

If you could sum up how using UST has helped your day-to-day work, what would you say?
A great cleaning process can be undermined by contaminated or hard-to-clean equipment. UST solves this problem effectively.
