Frozen and microwave heated food packaging new grades

The United States Nova (Nova Chemical) introduced two new grades for food packaging: Zylar EX720 and Dylark FG2500.

Zylar EX720 is a transparent acrylate copolymer series product, which has better transparency and low temperature toughness than the existing Zylar series grades. The processed product has good appearance and good resistance to cracking, so it is suitable for the packaging of refrigerated and frozen foods. This grade has good processability, which facilitates the design of complex components for processing plants, increases production, and reduces the quality of components. The material has been approved by the FDA and can be molded with existing styrenic resin processing equipment, with minor modifications or no modifications to the equipment.

Dylark FG2500 is a styrene copolymer series product, which has the low temperature toughness and high temperature rigidity required for microwave heating after being taken out from the refrigerator. The temperature range is wide, and the packaged food will not leak or overflow when taken out of the microwave oven or brought home from the food store. This grade has been approved by the FDA for use in contact with food. Short molding cycle, good sealability and printability, can be molded with existing PS or PET processing equipment.
