The Coca-Cola Company (CCE) and ECO Plastics announced the creation of the joint venture Contimuum Recycling, the UK's first beverage and recycling company. The joint venture will continue processing plastic bottles in the UK. Used plastic bottles are recycled in Lincolnshire and processed high quality materials will be reused for the production of new Coca-Cola plastic bottles.

Jonathan Short, general manager of ECO Plastics, said: “The establishment of Contimuum Recycling was a big achievement in the development of the beverage and recycling industry in the UK. In the most recent month, ECO Plastics has a financing plan of £24 million. It has entered the final stage. At present, the annual production volume of our mixed plastic bottles has increased from 100,000 tons to 140,000 tons, which is lower than the 50% of the total amount recovered last year."
