Ink penetration drying test method

1, principle

At regular intervals, the ink on the newsprint and the blank newsprint are rubbed under a certain pressure, and when the blank newsprint is no longer dyed by friction, the storage time of the scraping is calculated, and the dryness of the ink is expressed by the method. It is suitable for the determination of the dryness of printed inks, printed inks, and inks.

2, tools and materials

(1) A piece of square glass with a mass of ≈0.15 g. The glass piece has a side length of 20 mm and a thickness of 2 mm.

(2) 10g weight one.

(3) The newsprint is cut into 15cm x 11cm.

(4) Ink knife and squeegee.

(5) Timekeeping clocks.

3, inspection methods

(1) Apply a small amount of the tested ink to the newsprint with a doctor knife, and use a doctor blade to force the ink from the top down to a thin layer. The thin layer of the ink is about 4 to 5 cm in width and about 12 cm in length. (Not shorter than 10 cm).

(2) Record the time of good ink scraping. Place the scraping paper on a smooth glass plate (ink sample up) after 15 minutes. The top part is covered with another blank newsprint paper, and a square glass piece and a weight are pressed on the scraped end of the paper strip.

(3) Quickly grasp the other end of the blank news note and move it along the direction of scratching to make the newsprint rub against the scratch under the pressure of the glass sheet and the weight.

(4) Check if the newsprint paper is stained. If it is still dyed, repeat the above test at a different position with a new newsprint at a certain time afterwards until the newsprint is not dyed after the test. Then calculate the ink smear until the newsprint after the test. The time required for no dyeing is the drying time.
