The average child safety seat usage rate is 33.26% The "Blue Book of Chinese Children's Road Traffic Safety" analyzes the characteristics of Chinese children's road safety from the aspects of laws and regulations, evaluation standards, and safety education on how to improve the status of children's road traffic safety in China, and puts forward suggestions for improvement. The Blue Book collected more than 5,000 survey samples and investigated the use of child safety seats in eight cities including Beijing, Qingdao, Dalian, Harbin, Nanjing, Changsha, Xiamen and Ningbo. Among them, the average use rate of child safety seats in 8 cities is 33.26%, the city with the highest usage rate is Beijing, reaching 39.6%, and the city with the lowest usage rate is Changsha, only 8.77%. Since 2013, the use of child safety seats in China has gradually increased. In 2013, this figure was less than 15%. Correspondingly, the occupancy rate and frequency of use of child safety seats are also increasing year by year. However, there is still a great shortage of domestic people's understanding of the protective role of child safety seats. Many of them believe that vehicles do not travel at high speeds and travel only in urban areas, which is slower and does not require the use of child safety seats. In addition, the inconvenience of the installation, the children are too big, the children are not like, the children are used to holding children, and the space is also the main reason why the Chinese people do not like to use child safety seats. Children aged 15-17 are most likely to be injured in traffic accidents Corresponding to the low usage rate of child safety seats, it is still the key reason for children in all ages in China to suffer injuries in the event of a motor vehicle accident. Among them, people aged 15-17 years old were the most vulnerable, accounting for 37.64% of the total number, followed by 6-11-11 and 2-5 years old, with the proportions being 24.15% and 22.23%, respectively. The Blue Book pointed out that the reason for this difference is mainly caused by the different ways of travel of children of different ages. For children between the ages of 15 and 17 years old, the ability to travel has been very strong. In addition to taking a motor vehicle, some people can even drive a motor vehicle. However, due to lack of driving experience, strong heart and poor handling ability, the accident has occurred frequently. In addition, children of this age group are no longer paying special attention to adults when they are travelling, so they are less likely to adopt or not use safety equipment, resulting in a higher risk of injury in the event of a traffic accident. Correspondingly, children under the age of 1 have the least chance of being injured in all ages, which is directly related to the number of children traveling in this age group. However, it is particularly noteworthy that the child mortality rate in this age group is the highest among all age groups, especially the head is extremely vulnerable to serious injuries in the accident. It is understood that there are currently 96 countries and regions in the world that have introduced laws and regulations for the mandatory use of child occupant restraint systems, including the United States, Germany, Australia, Japan, Brazil, South Africa, Taiwan and other countries and regions. The average number of children injured by car has dropped significantly. For example, the number of children killed in road safety in the United States and Germany has dropped by about 50%. In recent years, the safety of children's rides has received widespread attention in China, and the call for mandatory use of child traffic safety seats is increasing.
